TAMU NAL Team served as Lead PI on successful AFOSR BOLT II Flight Test

Drs. Bowersox, Reed and White, with a team of students (Heather Kostak, Bryan Morreale, Daniel Mullen, Eric Swinny, and John Wirth,) served as the lead for the science mission for the Boundary layer Turbulence (BOLT II) In Memory of Mike Holden flight test. The flight successfully took place on March 21, 2022. The results will be described during a series of special sessions as part of the AIAA SCITECH 2023 Conference.

NAL Graduate Student Interns with APL on AFOSR Hypersonic Flight Test Program

Heather Kostak completed an internship this summer with the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. Her project centered on the AFOSR sponsored Boundary Layer Transition (BOLT) Flight Test Project. As part of the project, she worked on wind tunnel experiments at NASA Langley Research Center, Purdue University, and Texas A&M University. For more information see the APL Press Release.

NAL Graduate Students Study in Australia

PhD student Brianne McManamen and Ian Neel completed a 1-month study abroad at the University of Queensland in Brisbane Australia. They were hosted by Professor Richard Morgan to gain experience with hypervelocity wind tunnel testing.
