Texas A&M University Aerospace Engineering Leads Sonic Boom Team

Imagine an aircraft structure that can change its shape in flight to reduce the sonic boom noise produced by supersonics airplanes — The NAL is part of a new (2017) 5-year NASA ULI team, led by the Aerospace Engineering Department at Texas A&M University, to meet this visionary objective. Boeing, Materials Science and Engineering, and other universities are also a part of this team.
