Computation
Numerical
simulations are performed to study basic fluid dynamics processes, validate
model ideas, aid in the interpretation of experimental data and the design of
experiments. These simulations are performed on in-house parallel clusters, university
resources and the Air Force High Performance Computing systems at Wright
Patterson AFB, OH. The computational codes include numerous in-house boundary
layer and Navier-Stokes solvers as well as the following commercial software: Cobalt
(Cobalt, Inc.), GASP (Aerosoft, Inc.), Fieldview (Ilight, Inc.), Tecplot (Tecplot,
Inc.), Gridgen (Pointwise, Inc.) and VGrid (NASA Langley). A few example
